You have to admit, it was hilarious what Jason Kidd did last night in order to preserve extra time to talk to his team late in the game against the Lakers.
The Nets didn't have any time outs, but what Jason Kidd pulled off, it was an unofficial time out.
Maybe Kidd didn't think the cameras were on him to catch him say "Hit me" to Tyshawn Taylor as he was walking to the bench.
But the NBA was watching -- and it was up in the air whether the NBA would fine Kidd for such an act.
It was reported earlier tonight by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports that the NBA will fine Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd $50,000 for dropping a cup of soda on purpose in order to gain more time.
Kidd was asked at the presser last night about the cup spill.
"The cup slipped out of my hand," Kidd told reporters at the game. "I was getting tired. Sweaty palms. I was never good with the ball. So, in the heat of the battle, you’re trying to get guys in and out of the game, and the Coke fell out of my hand."
Got to love Kidd for trying -- and maybe the reactions would be a bit different if the Nets had won last night.
