It was as if Mt. Everest exploded earlier today. That's the kind of impact Kobe Bryant has on today's media. Any video, picture, tweet the Black Mamba puts out there, a massive response is expected to follow.

And that's exactly what happened today...

Kobe Bryant posted up a video on his Facebook page marking his return, and that return, will happen this Sunday when the Lakers take on the Toronto Raptors at the Staples Center.

This is when Twitter and LakersNation exploded upon hearing the breaking news.

We knew the comeback was coming -- didn't think it would take place a week into December. Some thought by Christmas, some thought after the new year, but Kobe shocks the world every time.

Do you expect to see much from him on Sunday? Not sure what his playing minutes would be, and if he's even starting or not -- but having Kobe Bryant back on the floor is great for the Lakers and even better for the NBA.

We expect him to have rust, but how long will it take him to shake off the rust? Or does Kobe even show rust? It remains to be seen.

But knowing Kobe Bryant, his number one goal is to prove people wrong. Prove that even with the Achilles injury that sidelined him for months, he can come back better than ever. (He was averaging 27 ppg prior the injury last season). Prove that he can lead this Lakers team again to the playoffs. Prove that he's still one of the top elite players in the game. Proving the doubters and haters wrong at the same time.

Kobe Bryant has proved the doubters and haters wrong. He's just getting another opportunity to do it again.

He's ready...and so are the Lakers...
